Carlos Vonderwalde

R&D consultant and company founder.  Carlos has a B.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering from the Universidad Iberoamericana of Mexico.  He worked as a Professor at the same institution from 1989-1998. Since 1989, Carlos has been involved in the private sector, working as a product specialist in the areas of cardiology and urology.  In 1996, Carlos began working on the  development of the Heterologus pericardium covered stent, of which he is the inventor as stated under several US patents.  In 1999 Carlos moved to Canada to continue the development of the Pericardium Covered Stent and secure the technology for its manufacturing.  Among other activities in Canada Carlos has lead several products toward CE Mark and FDA approval and has obtained the ISO-13485 for several companies.

Prof. Antonio Colombo

Prof. Antonio Colombo is Director of Investigational Angioplasty at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Emo Centro Cuore Colombo Hospital in Milan, Italy, and Chief of Invasive Cardiology at San Rafaelle Hospital, also in Milan. He is one of the premiere developers of the concept of coronary stent placement.

His curriculum vitae includes medical professorships at the University of California at Irvine and at New York University. He was the Assistant Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, University of California at Irvine, where he completed a fellowship in Cardiology.

Prof. Haim Danenberg, Medical Advisor

Specialist in Cardiology. The Director of Interventional Cardiology at the Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center. In the past was the Director of Cardiovascular Research at the Hadassah Medical Center and before a Visiting Scientist, Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology, Boston, MA.

He also completed a fellowship in Invasive Cardiology at St. Joseph Hospital, State University of New York, he completed medical school at the University of Milan and the Postgraduate School in Cardiovascular Diseases at the University of Parma, Italy, and his internship and residency at Cabrini Medical Center, New York Medical College.

Dr. Jorge Gaspar

Dr. Gaspar is the director of the hemodinamyc department at the Instituto Nacional de Cardiologia "Ignacio Chavez" in Mexico City. He has published 35 articles, 17 book chapters and as well as 63 other publications.
Dr. Gaspar completed his medical studies at the Universidad Autónoma in Guadalajara. He then completed his post-graduate work as a resident in internal medicine, cardiology and finally interventional cardiology at Harvard University.

Dr. Gaspar is active part of the faculty at the Transcatheter Terapeutics Congress and one of the most active interventional cardiologist in Mexico.

Dr. Martin B. Leon

Dr. Leon is the President and CEO of the Cardiovascular Research Foundation and Senior Attending Physician at the Lenox Hill Heart and Vascular Institute of New York. Dr. Leon has co-authored over 900 publications, has performed over 7,000 interventional procedures, and has had an important impact in several areas of interventional vascular therapy. He is the Director of Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics, the largest dedicated meeting in interventional vascular therapy in the world. Dr. Leon has been Director of Clinical Research at the Washington Cardiology Center at the Washington Hospital Center and Clinical Professor of Medicine at Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, DC. He also served as a Clinical Associate, Senior Investigator, and Director of the Catheterizati fellowship in Cardiology at the Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Dr. Asif Qasim

Dr Qasim is a consultant cardiologist providing national health service and private practice heart specialist services in central and south London.

Dr Qasim graduated from the University of Cambridge, with prizes and awards for research and clinical medicine. He trained in general medicine and cardiology in Cambridge, Birmingham and London .

He completed his PhD examining cardiovascular stem cell biology, with research papers and presentations at scientific meetings in Europe and north America. He has published papers in peer reviewed journals on a range of interventional and general cardiology subjects. Dr Qasim remains active in cardiology research and is a senior investigator for a number of clinical trials.

Dr Qasim has a high level of expertise in interventional cardiology, and performs all aspects of coronary intervention.
